Materials & Care

Sterling Silver, Copper & Niobium
Sterling Silver

Our Sterling Silver rings are made from 92.5% pure sterling silver and 7.5% other metals, which is the standard in the United States. The 7.5% other metals in our rings consists of 100% pure copper. Sterling silver is alloyed in this way to give strength to the material.

To care for your sterling silver jewelry, use a small amount of non-lotion soap in 1/2 cup water; let soak several minutes. Gently, but briskly rub jewelry between your hands, rinse and let air dry. Store each piece in a separate plastic zip baggy, which will help prevent tarnishing. If piece is already tarnished, our copper cleaning kit can be used on sterling as well as copper. Just be sure to rinse WELL in warm water afterward.

Copper

Our copper is 100% pure copper, custom made to be as hard as copper can be. This is not your standard soft copper. Will quickly develop a nice patina, but cleaning kits are available to keep it sparkling if desired.

Our copper cleaning kits are wonderful and will last you a very long time! Simply wet the sponge that comes with the kit. Apply a small amount of the copper cleaner to the sponge, and wipe the grime away! Rinse WELL with warm water and pat dry with a soft cloth.

Niobium

Niobium is element #41 on the periodic table. It is considdered to be a reactive element because passing an electrical current through it changes its color. There are no dyes involved in the process, it's just an all natural reaction of the metal. Comes in a variety of colors except for red, orange, and black.

The color of your niobium will last well if proper care is taken. Abrasive materials and cleaners will fade the shine and color. Do NOT use our copper polish kit on our niobium products. Stay away from abrasive materials such as sand and harsh cleaners. Also store your jewelry in a separate plastic zip baggy to prevent pieces from rubbing against one another. To clean, use Windex, rubbing alcohol, or warm water with a mild soap. Dawn (clear or blue) works well, but stay away from citric scents like orange and lemon, and from soaps containing lotion.
